Henry Ford Health works to raise neurofibromatosis awareness

"Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a visual illness first," shared Tracy Irby, who's living with the genetic disorder causing tumors to grow in the nervous system, skin and surrounding bone. "People see it before they know anything about it or how painful it can be."
But our neuro-oncologist Dr. Tobias Walbert believes the work that will take place at the Nick Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Research Institute, housed inside our research facility in partnership with Michigan State University, will open new doors for patients living with NF.
