We are pleased to announce that Congress awarded $12.8 million to the Neurofibromatosis Research Program (NFRP) for fiscal 2012. This funding is supported through the Department of defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
An agreement was reached on the omnibus House-Senate conference report late Thursday, December 15th.
The NFRP which is dedicated to decreasing the clinical impact of neurofibromatosis is the largest source of NF research dollars. Significant milestones for NF research have been accomplished through this program. Since the beginning of this program in 1996 Congress has appropriated over $225 million for NF research.
